The International Ornithological Congress (IOC) landing at South Haven, Skokholm. The IOC had held their international scientific meeting in Oxford, with about 350 people from around the world attending. The week long Congress traditionally concluded with a 'long excursion', the British organizing committee chose Skokholm, the Pembrokeshire bird-island. The Navy provided two destroyers, HMS Windsor (left) and HMS Wolfhound (right), to travel from Tenby to Skokholm. Photographed 8 July 1934.
